What is CBD?
Last Updated: 04/24/2019
Let's first appreciate the acronym! Cannabidiol is a mouthful - Canna-bid-iol = CBD!
Cannabidiol is one of the 5 main compounds found in BOTH hemp and cannabis plants. The other 4 being THC Tetrahydrocannabinol (Indica strain/anxiety reducer, pain reliever), THCV Tetrahydrocannabivarin (Sativa strain/caffeine of cannabis), CBN Cannabinol (1% average presence in most strains/sleep aid), & CBG Cannabigerol (known as the parent of both THC and CBD compounds). We won't spend too much time on the THC, THCV, CBN and CBG compounds in this article, however, reference this paragraph for a refresher if need be. Not to worry, the cannalanguage is foreign to most.

So, we can now spell and pronounce the word, but what exactly is CBD?

CBD is most presently found in the Hemp plant where the THC compound is .3 percent or less. THC is the psychoactive compound that presents the euphoric "high" feeling and is found at 5 - 20% in the Cannabis plant. CBD, as you have probably heard, will not get you high, it will, however, team up with your CB1 and CB2 receptors to work miracles within your body and brain. The human body naturally creates cannabinoids of it's own and is equipped with CB1 and CB2 receptors to recognize and respond to the endogenous cannabinoids it produces. More often than not, the typical American, will fall short in obtaining sufficient, daily amounts of HEALTHY fats like Omega-3 fatty acids. Healthy fat compounds are essential in facilitating healing and growth of CB1 and CB2 receptors located in the spinal cord, brain, on nerve cells/peripheral organs and tissues like the spleen, white blood cells, immune system, reproductive, urinary and gastrointestinal tracts. CBD contains a wicked amount of fatty acids which prompt the signal to CB1 and CB2 receptors to do their jobs naturally, in which the body will begin naturally producing endogenous cannabinoids.

Everything is about balance. There is always a yin to the yang.
CBD will encourage your body to do what it was always capable of doing by balancing and redirecting the cells that already exist within you.

Cannabidiol is gaining worldwide exposure in the health and wellness market. Consumers are waking up to the very startling truth that a massive amount of health products and medicines, whether available on grocery store shelves or doctor prescribed, some medicine just isn't suitable for the human body. The dangers of modern western medicinal practices have been exposed in various studies for causing damaging, long term side effects, essentially perpetuating human health problems rather than healing.
